Lots of good stuff. I like to draw cartoony type stuff. It suits my simple mind. Here is some of my doodie: The first one is for a 6'5" rounded pin tail surf board I'm in the middle of making. It will be printed on rice paper and laminated under the glass. The next one is something for a t-shirt fundraiser for our local skatepark project. I live in New Smyrna Beach, FL (NSB), so I designed a crazy gang sign. To kind of poke fun at all that shit. I was inspired from Ed Templeton's "Fists of Fury". Everytime I see that "Fists of Fury" design it makes me smile. So good. The next one down is an illustrator design of the Oviedo pool I ride all the time. The last one is just a stupid pic I saw in a clip art book that I redrew and doodled with with.
That brings me to my question. Does anybody ever have problems with drawing what's in their head? I mean I've got all these images I'd like to draw but when I go to put them on paper, they look so shitty. In my head they are right on, but I can't get them on paper. It's like I'm retarded. My perspective and sense of light get all f'ed up. I can look at something and draw it ok if the image isn't too complex, but when it comes to doing stuff from my head, I get really frustrated. I guess I just need to draw more?

Heck yeah, people have mad skills around here. I was to be a medical illustrator and the program shut down (Yeah 13 years ago now- shit)...sat in a few nasty surgeries/dissections though - enough fodder for life. Have all that in my head, but nothing has made me want to pick up a pen/pencil and start drawing more guts than seeing the work around here (Total compliment). |
