It's always fun to peek into the Mad Scientist's lab. Good info!

Seeing the care you take in your work makes me want to buy a deck.

Keep up the good work on documentation.

Thanks for giving us more inside infos.
I just wonder how you just sand the deck in shape after making a rough cut. Don't you use a template to route/ trace the shape?
Make a master template of the shape and then trace it with a pin/bearing router bit.....

I cut my decks with a jigsaw, then iron out the rough spots with a beltsander then round the edges.

Is throwing the horns during the glueing and layup process as critical as it seems?

Nice press.

That was the "care" that "makes me want to buy a deck"...

Throwing horns, listening to the right music. Its all about putting the right energy in to each deck.
I was listening to metallica because I was making a deck that was exceptional and I pictured someone who likes heavy metal or fast skating riding it.
Sometimes I put biggie smalls in there for the little 7.5 popcicle decks.
I pass the energy into the deck.

I always do that, it makes a difference.

As for yoyo, I use two methods for cutting, I was meaning to add the other method later....I use a template for the pool pig shape still. That method is done in reverse, drilling a wheelbase, then putting it on a jig and using a template and a high speed router.
The page is sort of geared at the do it yourselfer, so I am trying to pass along cheap and easy techniques first.

However the drawn shape/roughcut method is still the only way to do shapes like the "sidecut", the"demon", and the "saw.
Their shapes would be very difficult to produce with a jig.

and thanks Blair, I love bessie the pressie!!

Yah, one with 18" wheelbase and a rocker, steep tri-tail and super deep concave that extends past the front truck bolts
