I just bought a re-issue Barbee Ragdoll, so I'm wondering about the authenticity of the shape?? Do they just use any blank deck, cut it to the original outline and screen the graphics on?? Or, do re-issues also have the same concave and tail/nose kicks as the original?? Also, who makes the re-issues?? |

OSK, I've been "out of the scene" for a while. I thought some companies shut down, but re-issues of boards from those companies seem to pop up. Whoever makes them really doesn't matter, I guess all I am really curious about is if the shape is exactly to the original. |

I can only speak from personal experience w/ my Powell decks. My Skull and Sword reissue is NOTHING like the original 10x30 pig shape, but it's still a nice deck w/ a good concave.
My reissue Steadham is the same shape, although I recall the nose on the original as being a bit more spooned. Since I haven't seen an original in about 18 years, I can't confirm.
I think I read on S&B that the Santa Cruz reissues had tails that were a bit flatter (in terms on concave) than the originals.

Most (all?) SC reissues also have a kick nose. |

Best SC reissue is the Jammer. It's really close to original.Pretty hard to fuck up a flat deck. |

The skull and sword was done on the newschool "k-10" shape which is an updated pool shape.
Nothing like the original. |

Or; fuck up somethign that is already fucked up! Terrible deck. More like a skateboard-shaped sideboard than a deck.
