So last Monday I took this wicked fall on a slippery mini-half and tweaked my left knee, calf, and ankle. In the midst of my anguish, I left behind my original skate wrench on top of the ramp. I didn't realize I had left it there (now 220 miles away) 'till yesteday when I went out to skate. I was really bummed - I had that key for 25+ years! I was also bummed 'cause my trucks were too tight and I needed to loosen them up to carve a bowl.
So today - I remembered being in a hardware store about two years ago and seeing a skate wrench for sale. What were the chances it was still there? I went back to the hardware store - asked the guy if he had a skate wrench - he did his best to help this wacked out customer on his hands - but he assured me - "no, he didn't have what I was asking for...how about this multi-tool for adjusting chain saws...." - "ah no thanks"
Not discouraged - I asked if he minded if I looked around on my own...well bingo... look what I found!

Check it out...it even came with the nifty mounting clip.
For about 5 minutes I thought..."hmmm eBay"...but then I wised up...thinking "man, it's about skating...not money" and went on to loosen the trucks and did some good carvin' today! |

I can totally relate!! I've had my elephant key since 1975 and when my kids use it to change out wheels/tighten trucks and don't put it back in the skate tool bag, I kinda wig out.... |
