It's a great issue ...this Sept issue...
tons of different coverage...and even Tad from S&B is in there!
Hell, even CW is mentioned!
As I predicted more than 2 years ago, the other mags would start showcasing other types of things (other than rails and ledges most of the time)
Now, if they could just take the plunge and show some longboarding and slalom.... |

Can only be good. I remember when TWS issued a press release that claimed they would only be featuring 'elite pros' by which they meant technical street skaters. Good to see the times are changing back to inclusiveness. |

I say, nothing will develop. After a year back in skateboarding, i have lost that optimism.
The streetskaters will catch at a straw, and there will be now real change, and for their luck,
the companys go on that way!
It was so frustrating so see young skateboarders riding ramps, they did suck more as me after the years.
Not to talk, that they look like a stiff robot, when they roll and go for doing a trick!
Skating at a park/hall was so boring, even you tried to teach some tricks and told them to get more speed,
it didnt work out! The next day, they hang on that same curb,
flipping the board and trying to catch that board again (after 654564694449444 zillion times).
I see no progress from the last year to this summer, watching the kids. Hell, for me, a year was like a
century of tricks, because we skated everything!
We even had no ramps like the kids today, we built scary huge quarters on the street
from wood that we stole from road works !
Im now back, skating alone in the parking lot, the place i got back in skating. Why?
Im more creative, watching old videos ,mags and trying again that tricks.
CW is great, but it will need a real dead again in skateboarding, that
miscellaneous types of skateboarding will accept!
How long, 5 years for the mag? I still need to get it from the internet - no local dealer has
the current issue!
But, that is good! The newest issue reminds me, to order some new hardware
from the only distributor (for "Other" skatehardware) here!
Dont need to talk, that kids never appreciate a talk about the quality and the difference in skatestuff!
They only want "names" on it and stickers! The rest is less..
After one year, i can say - nothing has changed or will change (from the view of a kid)!
For me, its like the mid 90s, im having other stuff (new again) for skating, that keeps me skating!
The People, a movement or something? Still sucks like the 90s!
I dont talk about music to someone, because people could be buddys, but get pissed about a style!
The same goes for skateboarding for me, today!
I hope someday, you can walk to a shop, buy every type of board, go to a park
and see every type of skateboarding again. Like in the 80s!
That would be cool
But, its a long way...
ps: Happy Birthday |

if you want to predict the future, you have to create it...
trust me, we have come a long, long way in 10 years...the next 10 are going to be fun, fun, fun
Rome was not built in a day...either!
we are just getting started on this journey....
and remember,
one rider at a time, one reader at a time and one subscriber at a time
cheer up, this IS the BEST time to be a skater...great terrain, great gear and great friends...
