Hi
I'm new here having drifted over from the M-A-S site and would like opinions about a bowl comp format.
What's best - a jam or timed runs?
It'll be split for age groups but if a jam how long for how many skaters?
All opinions greatly appreciated especially from those who have practical experience of a bowl/pool comp.
Cheers. |

From my experience.. if you have quite a number of entries for each division, I find it better to do a jam in the first round.. 6-8 skaters per jam for 8-10min... once you skim down the division to the top 8-10 for a semi, then top 6 for a final... run the semi and final on a 45sec timed run.. say 2 runs each... average them all or drop the lows and pick ur winner.. I once did a "head to head" elimination for a sponsored division... proved to be very interesting and i think everyone really liked the change..but only recommend that for the sponsored division.. hope this helps..
