I use Quickbooks Point of Sale joined with Quickbooks Pro.

I had to have someone set it up for me, but once it was up and working, I can add stuff to inventory very easily. Plus, Quickbooks has a Credit card deal to work directly with your checking account.

Quickbooks POS is a very good piece of software. Pricey but worth it. Managing inventory is very helpful. I am amazed at the amount of shops that have no inventory control and therefore have no idea what their inventory shrinkage (theft) is.

You can get POS packages from Dell. It comes with computer, cash drawer, Barcode scanner, credit card keyboard, receipt printer, and Quickbooks.

I've heard NOT to get the touch-screen monitor. I guess it's too hard to use.

I know another skate shop owner who's using a different POS program. It's pretty cheap. I'll get the name of it in the next couple of days and post it here.
