first off, damn you guys for re-stoking 'The Stoke'..i toyed with opening a skateshop but i think i'd get a little more satisfaction out of life if i built me a little deck-rig in the garage...
so, after reading all these posts i'm left with a couple of starter questions
-Veneer acquisition
..it was covered earlier, but since i'm in need of a new DIY hobby (obsess much?) let's say i'm looking at making from 1-5 decks a month (and more as i get world famous....you guys do this for the fame and the 'hawt chicks' right?)
-Truck drilling rig
it looks like i'll be eye-balling it untill i can get a template together (also see the North dvd for reference)
-Glue
i'm guessing elmers wood glue is NOT what i want... what am i looking at a far as price/quantity is concerned with buying how much of a 'certain' glue or glues ..also where do i go looking for glue suppliers...
-Ye Olde Deck Press 2000
i've seen pics of "The Concrete Block /w car jack Setup"
any tips on constructing one for the casual deck presser (mmm innuendos)
i'm guessing
- make a template
- mold concrete blocks
- use car jack for The Muscle (any certain psi or other specs i should know re: using a car jack?)
-Sanding-
i'm guessing a plain old belt sander would suffice for a small project? easy enough
-Finishing/Sealing
Thompson's water seal???
-Graphics

Milt, thanks again for the Q&A... |
