Hello,

Ive been to these forums a million times but never posted.

Ive noticed that most hydraulic presses are either 40-50 ton. Would a 20 ton press be sufficient. The reason is, I noticed quite a few companies (big and small) press thier decks 3-5 at a time.

Is the more decks you press the higher the psi has to be?

What if you plan on only pressing one deck at a time?

Also, is there any benefit of pressing just ONE deck at a time?

I understand the process would take a long time if I plan to press one at a time, but if it results in a better deck...

Thanks for any info you thorw at me.

The more you press at a time, the more variances you will have in the decks.

One at a time will insure consistency.

I'm using a 20-ton press and it seems to work fine. My only problem was the strength of the press frame, but I've got that taken care of now.
