Anyone at all into the snowboard scene? or collect 80's boards? The reason I ask is cause here in Toronto where I live, there seems to be an abundance of used 80s snowboards everywhere.. Perhaps no one wants them?

I'm in desperate hunt for a 92-93 lib-tech matt cummings the one with a biker on the bottom, I have a pic if that'd help. Gotta be rideable. |

Post a pic of it on this message board. Here in Toronto there are several stores selling used snowboards at decent prices (even better when you factor in the US exchange rate of about 1.60%).
I've seen about 40-50 this week, but never paid too much attention tot he details. Mostly Sims, Vision, Barfoot, Kemper and Burton to name a few...
Let me know what you're looking for and I'll keep it in mind next time im checkin out the shops..

I don't recall seeing that one, but I will be on the lookout for it..
Do boards like that appreciate in value like the 80's skate decks, etc?? Shipping snowboards must be quite a bit...

I dunno man, I havent been able to find one.. I know the older burtons like the wood ones usually go for good money.
I shipped a snowboard last year it was like $30 via UPS.

Most of the older boards I've seen recently are probably from 1987-1990 .. I don't think I've seen any of the wood models.... |

I still have my Damian Sanders Avalanche Kick. And I think I have Neon Spandex as well. Just kidding about the spandex. It's zebra striped not neon. Hehe |

I don't actively collect snowboards, but I accumulated a few. I have a 1988 Burton Safari (Zebra Striped), a 1990 Avalanche "Bumps", a 1996 Santa Cruz T-Type, a 1997 Burton Custom Freestyle 164 and a 1999 Burton Johan 163.
I also have an old Snurfer that I still use on the local golf course!
