I need to settle an argument with THM.

Please either vote your conscience, or else voice your feelings on this issue.

I'm going to do my best to make sure to keep things impartial (so that when I win, it won't look like collusion...), but I'd like your collective opinion on things.

Picture this--you go to the bar, and they have Buffalo Chicken Wings as appetizers. You're all familiar with Buffalo Wings, I hope.

Buffalo Wings seem to come in two shapes and sizes. One shape and size is clearly a wing, and one shape and size is clearly a drumstick.

The wing-shaped piece is clearly a wing. Is the drumstick-shaped piece clearly a leg piece, like every other chicken drumstick, or is it something else?

Please help.

Thanks.

The drum looking ones are called drummettes. Drummetts are are actually the shoulder part of the wing. I have bought them still connected before.

There is this amazing pub in Vancouver called the Cedar Cottage. Their "wings" are actually the tops of drumsticks. Fuckin' huge! You could get them everyday after 4:00 for 25 cents a peice. A Hoosegow "must stop" when in VanShitty.

Really, Are you for sure? That is crazy! I always have been told they were leg bones from younger chickens. If they really are the upper arm, then this completely changes my fellings on them.

%100 sure. We have a motto in The Hoosegow. No buffet is left intact and no wing shall be left behind. Now get the Louisianna Hot and Blue Cheese Dip and we'll call it a party!

We disagreed about this to the point that all of the waitresses were asking all of the other customers about their collective opinions on the matter, until eventually an ex-butcher/meatcutter came over to set us straight.

He said that all Buffalo wings and legs were basically the wings and legs of Cornish Game Hens, and that chickens are now bred for freakishly meaty proportions--wings were wings, and legs were legs.

Vote early, vote often.

ON a side note, I could live off of buffalo wings...like tangy pieces of crack they are.

I'd rather eat breaded and fried chicken buttholes.

I think they smell absolutely horrible. They don't taste quite as bad as they smell, but I still think they're crap.

Have you never cut up a whole chicken?!

It's clearly the upper wing bone as it has a single bone. Leg bone (tibia) has that thin sharp bone (fibula) in addition to the main one.
