Why is it so goddamned hard to perfectly toast an English muffin?
You have to watch them the entire time they're in the toaster--normal toaster settings are totally useless with the EM. It seems like there's a 10 second window where they're perfect (which I proudly just accomplished). Take them out too soon, and they don't seem like they were actually toasted, and they do not melt the first topping. Leave them in 15 seconds longer, and suddenly they're carbonized hockey pucks.
What the fuck? Neil, UKOS, and other English sorts of people, I want answers! |

Are you suggesting that I do not know the proper name for the device in my kitchen (technically I think it would be called a toaster-oven), or informing me that I have been using the wrong apparatus for the job?
What do I use? |

Spray a high DEET-concentration bug repellent on the split muffin and light it with one of those longneck fireplace lighters. When the stuff burns off the muffin is usually perfectly toasted, not burnt. Do this in a ventilated area, away from children and pets. |

In a side note to the bug repellent spray / match...tried to kill some black widows flamethrower style, only to light the door / frame / house on fire. Thought it'd work better than just spraying the fuckers.
Burn the shit out of my muffin, I won't complain. |

Put the oven on broil, butter the muffin, broil it on the bottom rack until the butter melts and goes brown.
Thank me later. The toaster method is useless. Toasters are designed for 2 things; burning perfectly good bread, and defrosting Eggos. |
