I moniter another forum that is specifically for industry types. A lot of reps in there - many are real pompous asses for the most part whose only concern is their commission and that shops kiss their asses. |

Thanks for the Kind words, yeah it has been a long hard road. Cowboypunk is going on its 5th year now. The Black Plagues have really taken off. And yes, if you are a shop in Texas, Bosco is your guy, he skates and is cool. Well I am off the GAYSR show in San Diego to rub elbows with those reps that could care less about skateboarding and care about there comm check.

They are a single store. They sell all the "cool" clothes and world industry completes for around $180. They are mostly clothing like a mix between spencers and hot topic. All the spikey jewlery and studded belts. You know whatever the kids are buying these days. Not a single skater in the whole store.
A few years ago I needed a pair of trucks and it was the only place to go. They had some indy's set up on a board that they would pull off and sell me for $80. I got kicked out that day |

I for one am amazed at South Shore turning down any order. They sold here where I live to the worst operations, with just a money order. Are you talking about a line of credit or a pre paid order? They delt with one guy here in particular that put two stores in the shit can and still offered orders to him? I know that he split up his stock with other pre pay type distribution companies, mostly because in order to get soild credit line type orders you had to have some steady on time payed for orders. In this case the shop(s) had dropped the ball. |

I don't think the rep understood I was ready to drop a 5 G order on him to get my shop off and running. I called them back Friday and once I told him this, his tune was changing..."Did you say 5000? Hold on a minute...my boss is gone for the day...can we call you back early next week?"
I should tell him I'm shopping around to other distros, just to hang him up.
I guess money talks. |
