dying screened shirts?

can i dye a white screened shirt without messing up the graphic?

i got a sweet BDS tee a bro gave me and got it all dirty skating (bailing in wet leaves) one day. i wanted to dye it black, i 've never done this so, what do you guys think?

Screen shirts can be dyed no problem.

However, the darker you dye it, the less of the graphic will show. Especially black.
