I saw a little machine a guy was printing wheels with. Does anyone know how they print wheels or if you can just use a plain old screen to print wheels. There is a picture of it on a site www.2sk8usa.com check out the about us link.

Im not really into the wheel scene but I think there are 2 ways...Heat transfers and pad printers.

That pad printer looks interesting. I always thought wheels were screenprinted somehow, it would be weird to have a screen that fit but yeah. I should look into it. Those pad printeres are expensive too.

I have the imprintor press, I am willing to sell it. I wanted to do wheels but couldnt get a good distributor so i left those plans. If no one wants it here, its going to ebay.

that imprintor doesnt look to be that complicated of a tool. I think I may have a project to start on for the next few months (between my lowrider bicycle frames and decks and flies and rifles and motorcycle and building my ramp and painting my miniatures and writing my book and...... dammnit I will never finish anythihng at this rate) I will let you guys know if I figure out a cheap and easy way to make one. The press should be easy. The pads themselves will have to fit the shape of the wheel face (easy for most new schools as they are similar, old school and big wheels like abec 11 will have to have their own) and their will need to be a plausible registration system ( I feel the need for test wheels to become quite important) What kind of inks you guys think you should use?
On another note, I have been busy drawing up plans for a small motorized centrifugal wheel mold, if anyone knows where I can get the right kind of urethane I would appreciate it.
