just got a blank to do some more art on. I was a little skeptical because I had bought a box of 10 assorted blanks from e-bay from this place before. They were advertised as 100% Canadian maple, so I thought, ok, they're only $11 a deck; I'll get some. So they came, half the box was warped and I noticed the "made in taiwan'' sticker and knew I'd been had. My loss. (I used them for art anyways...they're "samples"...purpose served, cheaper than canvas!)
So, now I like a certain size deck (8.25x32ish w/ a 14.5 wb). I did a search on the 'bay for "8.25" blank deck canada", and there was a buy it now for $16.99...but it was that same company. So, I read the description and it said "made in Quebec w/100% Canadian maple..." To shorten my ramblings, the deck looks really good (haven't skated it yet) and has a lot of concave/tail/nose. My question is, are there any other woodshops in Quebec besides Woodchuck? (they seem like a pretty good deal).
damn, i make no sense after a long day in corporate hell...sorry. |
