I just bought a beat up H-street deck I'd like to attempt to restore. I looked on AoS but it didn't have anything listed for worn down nose/tail repair. Does anyone here have any advice on how I could go about repairing the tail effectively? Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey Shackle,
Big Kahuna Burger put me on to this stuff called "plastibond" here in Australia. It cures nice and hard and sticks well. Basically it's a plastic putty. Build up the worn area bit by bit until it projects a little further than the original deck shape and sand it back. I'm restoring a white painted Roskopp face at the moment so the putty being white is perfect. Obviously if it is a stained deck this stuff would look shithouse!
I am also restoring a 92 real TG heart. The nose and tail are worn, but it is a stained deck. I am in the process of experimenting with ply fillet pieces that I'll try to key into the deck and stain to suit. It's frustratingly slow but being a carpenter helps! Also, make sure you want to hang on to the deck as one mans proud resto is another mans pile of shit! So restore for yourself. Jedi explains all this here so I'll belt my inexperienced trap! http://www.artofskateboarding.com/Res..._howtorestore.asp

Cheers and good luck!

Kinda sounds like Solar-ez (a resin/catalyst with light reactive agent that hardens in about 3 minutes in direct sunlight. Used for surfboard repair)

Thanks for the input guys, I'll look into the suggested materials. Hopefully this one goes better than my last attempt at restoration, my hawk skull came out looking a little sloppy. and being it an H-street deck, I doubt I will get rid of it, i'm still kicking myself in the ass for selling my signed Elguera scarecrow a few years ago.

I restored 2-3 tails and it turned out pretty good. Just follow mealsonwheels's advice. The hard part is to match the color.

a circular saw or belt sander fixes those worn areas in seconds.

glad to be of help.

restoration?

the hell you talking about?

that deck is a very very rare deck.

it came factory-tail-and-nose-worn!!!!!

restoration on that baby would be destruction.

It is so rare that AoS only has listed the crappy "new" deck version.
