i remembered some punk dudes my band stayed with doing what they called the "poor mans method"
they take their artwork (high contrast;not a lot of halftones, or larger size halftones work best they said) print it out on a laser printer at kinkos, then rub vegetable oil on it it make it sort of an onion skin type of thing. they said they had to mess around with exsposure times, but once they got it dialed in, it worked great |

I have heard of this method it is a popular method and works really well only thing is that you gotta play with it to get your exposure times right |

Yea.. transparencies work just fine... xerox machine or laser printer... usually when i use transparencies I double the image..i cut the second double down around image..line it up exactly over the first trans..then scotch tape it to the first...makes the image nice and dark.
I prefer to use vellum sheets or laser film sheets though... you can buy both in tablet form from an art/screen printing store.. only need one sheet there..holds the image better (dark) on the film.

I use the Toner printer on the paper and baby oil rubdown exclusively. It works great. I tried the transparency first, and it doesn't print as opaque on the transparency as it does on paper. I've had no problems at all using this method. I'd highly recommend it.

all my poster prints were made with oiled paper, and they turn out great! one thing i might suggest is re-baking the screens after you expose and wash them out....this helps set the emulsion in areas where the white paper blocked light so that the emulsion wont fall apart on you while printing.
or just use transparencies...
