That's me went and tried to make my concrete mold for pressing boards. Unfortunately it didn't work quite right. Its a tough bit of concrete alright but when I removed the mold I found that the gravel from the mix had sunk to the bottom and so the pressing surface of the mold if all gritty and bumpy. Does anyone have any idea what I done wrong? |

when you are casting concrete it's a good idea to agitate your mold, this way any air will be released making the cast denser and smoother. just grab the mold and give it a good shake several times. another thing you can do is reach in with your hand and smooth out the board surface it's messy but works. the only other thing i could recomend is to change the concrete recipe maybe more sand than gravel etc. or use a finer size gravel. hope this helps. |

How bad is the mold surface? If it isnt all that bad you could get some thin steel and press it with your mold. That way you could liquid nail the thin sheets to your concrete mold. Nice smooth surface. Just a thought, im not pressing my own stuff. |
