I was wondering after you make your frame and you want to attach the screen mesh to it do you have to have it profesionaly put on or can you do it yourself and how?

putting the design on to the silkscreen.

sure you make your design.

then how to transfer it on to the screen?

so you apply the emulsion to the screen and then dry it.

then you use heat/light to set the pattern on to the screen. yeah?

what I want to know is -

do you just print out the design on to paper or what?

can someone explain this section/process step by step. I have no background in this.

thanks

You can print your design on paper and then put baby oil on it to make it translucent. This works well but the paper still blocks some light and you might end up with a thin/weak layer of emulsion left.

Transparency paper its great. You should print out 2 of the same image and line them up and tape them together to make your design darker.

Hope my info helps,
Dave

how do you keep tension on the mesh when the frame is contorted like on a deck screen.

sweet advice. thanks man.

I imagine then that you could print out the graphics onto a long piece of over head projector plastic. even better?
