I took an Alva 38", Gullwing 12" wide trucks, and Cliff Slide Wheels...
The reason I used super-wide trucks is to completley eliminate wheel-bite (73MM and didn't want to use risers)... and give me a little extra stablity to start with.
My question is can I still get good slides???
I tooled around a little last night and it feels pretty comfortable.
What is the ideal slide setup???
I'm a beginner, of course...

Get or make some slide gloves.
There's a ton of threads on slide gloves on ncdsa.com
Cliff will bomb huge hills with slide gloves only. |

I saw a clip of Chris and Cliff on Gravity...Cliff FLIES and no helmet or pads and careens around these steep hairpins...Holy Cow!
Yeah, the slide gloves are the thing to have... I'll look them up.

Slide Gloves rule indeed!!
But today I learned that you better have that plastic over palm & fingers...
Ive only begun to slide but I think the bigger the plastic, the better...
My Fingers slid on the Road too,as my Slide Gloves are only covered at the palms, and the glove is pretty thrashed by now (the fingers)....and so is my Ass after sliding on it!! |

Hey Nic, where'd you obtain your slide gloves??? The only ones I've seen that I like appear to be custom-made. I'd like to buy some online if possible.
There is a place online that sells them, I don't like the looks of theirs, though.

I made mine. It was pretty easy, I'll take some pics when I get home.

Great links, thanks! Is CC doing all that sliding on a waterski? Sure looks like it!
I'm taking the old kitchen cutting board to work tomorrow and make some pucks for my gloves.
