Ok i need some help with what to use, i went to my local paint shop and all they could suggest its coloured polyeurethane but they didnt have the colours i wanted. I thought maybe fence stain would do? Any idea's would be welcome..... |

Sorry, just saw this thread - go to http://www.stemac.com - they sell concentrated coloured stains to use on guitars, they're pretty expensive but one bottle will last ages. |

I use the outdoor stain at home depot. It's Behr brand name. You can get it in any color in the rainbow. It's like $20-$25 a gallon, but it'll last you until you are no longer doing this expensive hobby and then some.

I know this topic is very old. I want to stain veneers, would soaking them in a tub with standard wood stain work or do woodshops use somthing else? Staining by this method woulden't effect lamiation with the other plys? |
