Thanks. What is a "team screen" - something they just screened on all prototypes? Any value? I was hoping to find another logo when i looked at the top but pretty cool if those mean it was a working prototype.
Kindof just loving it to hang on the wall. |

Interesting board, although I have trouble putting a period on it : shape looks like early 90s but by the time they used the new school truck bolt pattern, deck width was cut down to below 9 inches. if it's really 10 inches wide, I don't think it's an 90s deck - even the "hotrod" model which came out in the mid-90s wasn't that big (9.2-something, I think). More like early 2000s when the diversity of shapes grew again...
as for the remarks on the top side - yes, that does look like a prototype. I had an SMA prototype a long time ago which had stuff scribbled on top in a similar way. |

I agree with this.
Powell was still making some bigger decks (when no one else was) in the 90's. It totally looks like a prototype, by the top scribbles. Maybe this one didn't make it into production, due to it beeing "too wide" (just a guess).
Also, that logo looks pretty late-90's, as something like that has appeared on the longboards they were making around that time (in the post-Stacy Peralta era).
Enjoy it! Where'd you find it? |
