If you haven't seen this, watch it.
I miss Grosso
I loved the letters.
I loved the History aspect. The fuck you aspect. His humor. His anger. All of it. So fucking good.
I was at a session with Rockin Ron at Montclair and it was expected Grosso was going to drop by. He did. His skating was stunning. His power and precision was amazing. Stuff that just doesn't come across in skate videos as it does when he soars by you doing a 6ft Lein-air. Stunning!

That's montclair skatepark on central and benito..
Saw salba and mickey alba there when they were sporting flood control..
Mickeys a mellow dude..
Salba seem occupied and unapproachable at the time..
That bowl grosso is doing that in is STEEP and slick..
Amazing..
Miss grosso odd bird out of the box approach to life when he spoke.. not many people have that unique quirkiness now.. lots of dull I'll go with the flow personalities now
Feels weird to have his auto on a deck still and can't think he's gone still..
😞
Happy belated birthday jeff |

Thanks radrob, I always fuck the name of that park up. Love that bowl, super slick and smooth thus motherfucking fast!! Took awhile to get used to it, and I was sporting several injuries, but had a hell of a session there with Rockin Ron the day before. We came back the next day—we had gotten a tip that Grosso was coming down. EPIC!!
Hate to detract from the video but here's some of the Grosso imaes I've posted before from the same day—taken by one of my fave photogs:
That one was a 2 feet or so away from my face and at eye level—I'm a hair short of 6ft.

I gave MRZ a mission at Montclair—to recreate the famous Salba+Dunlop image with Salba+Malba—I promised him front page of the next issue of CW if he could pull it off. He succeeded.
And yes, they stuck it. Fucking killer!! |

I love that he mentored Lizzie. He really seemed to work hard at being a good human being as he got older. I miss his sense of humor. What a terrible loss this has been. I miss The Letters. There's a big void now that he's not here. It was rad to see all the love people have for his son. |

Agreed. To me he sounded like a cranky old prick sitting in a bus stop muttering to himself about a distant past glory, but he seemed to have a heart of gold. Loved that he did the LBGTQ ep, that was solid as fuck, big ups for stepping up. |
