I just ordered a pair of 215's. I've been on 169's since 1984 but I feel that it's time this old dog learned some new tricks. The interweb says 9.5" to 10.5" decks are recommended. I want to hear from some people that actually ride 215's. What is your favorite size for these trucks. These days I'm just carving, grinding and hitting a curb now and then. Post some pics if you got em'. Thanks!

I ride 169's (stage III) on my 10" wide deck with full offset Kryptonics reissue wheels on it to give me a 10" wide wheel/truck width. If I were to go with modern narrow center set wheels I would probably try 215's on my 10" deck.

I do have 215's (stage XI) on an 11" wide board with Alva conicals which are slightly offset. This setup yields an overall width of 10.5" or so which works well. I would prefer the Kryptonics for a little extra overall width but I do like the conical shape better so it's a bit of a trade off right now.

Anyway, when I first set up the deck with the 215's I really didn't like the way they turned at all. They felt slow to turn, basically lifeless. I did a little poking around and found that a lot of people hate the stock bushings from Indy. I tried replacing the bushings with both medium and hard Bones bushings which were an improvement but they still didn't turn to my liking. I had to fiddle with different duro Kiro bushings to really make them come to life. I ended up with 90a barrels and 92a cones in them which seemed to loosen them up nicely and provide good rebound for me at 200lbs. They will never turn as quick as my 149's or 169's, both of which I run Bones bushings in and love the way they ride. Smashing some pool coping with 215's on fat lumber is extremely satisfying. The deep growling sound you just don't get from a smaller set up.

Thanks gheepup. Great info there. I want to try those conicals. What size risers are you running?

Hey slob, are those Olsen decks 11"?

I had 1/2" risers on it but switched to 1/4" for my session on Saturday. Set up with 59mm wheels now I no longer need the bigger risers. It felt better so I will keep the 1/4" risers for the foreseeable future.

Correction for accuracy: The 215's plus the Alva conicals yield an overall width of 10.25"

I think they were 10.5. The wheels ate up a lot of truck.

The OG blunt nose Porker is still available (with Gyros), as is the Skaterbuilt (w/ BDS Shogos). Olsons, middle Porker and the B-R-S-C porker are gone.
