//Thx in advance 😎

Powdery sounds snow-related. I know nothing about that sticker, but would like to know more about that setup....when did you get that deck, wheels, etc. Looks in great condition for the age it implies.

Thx guys! Probably something else than a skateboard sticker, I think I’ll remove it then.

I’m the third owner, and it’s an og setup from back in the day. As far as I know. ‘79 pig, ACS 800 and Variflex wheels. Everything in the same (good) condition. Never restored.

A few more pics below...

I don't think Variflex existed when the Aces board came out.

Other than the awesome Varifex X wheels, most Variflex wheels are for toy skateboards from big box stores and chains.

Well, I had some Variflex trucks (and purple Bones wheels) on my Powell Beamer in the late 70’s so they might have been making some wheels as well?

Variflex also made a few nice decks during that era, like the El Gato.
Like you said, later on they produced merely just.... crap.

While Variflex existed in the very late 1970s it wasn't until 1980 that the team came together Elguera, Losi, Hirsch Grisham who were the best of Variflex —and the Variflex X wheel. Variflex's cantalevered truck came out around that time too—but I don't recall Variflex having a standard truck before the cantilevered version, but remember the standard design truck they put out quite a few years later when they were losing their team and market share and turned towards big box stores.

Real easy to mix eras of skating up after the fact when someone puts newer or older stuff on their deck.

I'm an offender of that. Riding Stage II Indys for a decade and beyond and Blackheart wheels, Variflex wheels, Alva Naturals being put on new decks when I couldn't afford new wheels and trucks, and to some extent, was happier with the old stuff (Stage II Indys are a good example).

My memory is not the greatest but ....

Can’t argue with that! After all, someone else had the deck and set it up back in the day... 😅

I’m definitely satisfied with it all - especially with the Aces deck (and the ACS 800)!

//Cheers J
