I am making month by month video timelines of the main events in street skateboarding history from the 1980s and 1990s.

Here is 1987:

I am moving the videos over to Odysee.com, a more reliable platform.

Street skating began here in the late '70s. That's how we'd get to the ramps. After the ramp session we'd go downtown and rip the flower pots on 3rd, 4th and 5th, shred the statue on 7th and then go bomb the parkades and street skate home.

Grinds, slides, airs, ollies, rock n rolls, inverts... everything we did on the vert ramps we did on the flower pots, banks and statues.

Here is an old pic of the smaller concrete flower pots (the bigger ones were tile).

Cool. But don't forget 1986.

Agree with Slob. Street skating has always been around, but it wasn't until 1985-1986 when contests started including street courses with launch ramps, curbs, and obstacles.

yes that is true, but the farther back in time you go, the less surviving video footage there is of street skating, especially on a month by month basis, and thus the harder it is to make a month by month video timeline of what was going on.

Here is 1986:

1986 was a big year: first kick flip on a bank on video (Mark Gonzalez) and first attempt to railslide a handrail (Natas)
