Y'know, you can take it for what little it's worth, but Dan's actually a really smart fellow. He's got brains. Very forward-thinking and innovative. He makes really good stuff. Loves the hell out of skateboarding, and gives a lot back to it. And he's a genuinely nice, humble guy to boot. He means well. There aren't a whole lotta industry dudes I can say that about, let alone with confidence.
So what if he wasn't cool thirty fuckin' years ago? Hey, guess what pal: none of us were. You may think you were. I may think I was. But, we weren't. And we damn well know it.
Bottom line? He's an a-ok chap in my book. He's pretty f'n cool these days, and that's what counts. Gay, straight, or indifferent, I really don't give a damn. He's still an asset to the staff, and I'm glad to have him on board.
