There were a bunch of skate pics from backyards in the area around Mt. Baldy after the fire they had, but they were lost to photobucket. Same with the shots of Salba riding upland as it was torn down.
Then there were these...

Are the town leaders calling that a "Skatepark," Obed?
Or just a civic drainage project that people skate once in a while? |

It's part of a "skatepark" that is pretty much un-skateable. It's in Bowmanville, Ontario. We drove 2+hrs up to check it out. Such a drag.
Here's another mind melter. Curved quarter with a pit in front.

How about this piece of shit? Modular crap. The contract was given out to a PLAYGROUND (yes I'm shouting) equipment company. So for £48,000 they got this and a quarter pipe. By the way the design was decided on by consulting primary school kids between 9-11!!! There's a video on youtube of the local council meeting during which they decide on this crime against skating. Hilarious. Know nothing councillors rush through the whole thing in a few minutes and vote unanimously in favour of their stupidity. One was particularly concerned about the surveillance cameras to be linked direct to the local Police Station. Are the officers gathered round a monitor taking in all the awesome scooter action over cups of tea? The council stated "it is only designed for use by children up to the age of 11". A stupendous fuck up by Oakham (wherever that is) council.
Local skaters are very unhappy to say the least. I particularly like the attention to detail making sure the transition is an inch or so off the ground and the ledge that stops six inches above ground level. You can just see the sic quarter pipe in the background with the same transition problem.
