Anyone here near Toronto ? I found a sander (like this one) 20 minutes north of Toronto, but they don't seem to be accustomed to shipping into the U.S.
Actually w/o getting a quote they just said it would cost a fortune to ship to Cali. I know it's not going to be cheap but I'm not really sure where to start.
Anybody have any suggestions ?

Here's a map of where it is ---->> https://www.google.com/maps/place/1448....316325,17z/data=

I've had 2 packages lost by Canada Post that originated in Ontario, so I'd personally recommend against them. If you can stomach UPS or FedEx, that's who I'd encourage the seller to go with.

There's a Fedex near me so I'm going to take the Toronto address and the sander I have over there and see if I can get a quote.

That’s about 40mins away from me if you need help, is it still with box or loose?
if you have same model take to your local fedex for a rough shipping quote
that way you can work out if it’s even worth buying or looking for one near you as price may work out to be the same in the end

NEVER!!!

I've been shipping with Canada Post for my business for 17 years and have never had a single failure in their system—nothing lost, nothing wrecked... nada.

Yep agree with Slob and Buckethead. Nothing lost by Canada Post, either stuff sent to me or stuff I sent including much to/from the US.

UPS may fuck you over for all kinds of "customs clearance and documentation fees". I've seen people who've bought a small, cheap part from the US that cost a few $$ and UPS pays the duty on your behalf claims it back from you with "disbursement fee and documentation fees". The situation ended up with people paying the shipping plus duty plus approx $40 in "fees". Apparently they've improved a little. You can make your life more difficult by, before shipping, saying you want to do all the customs clearance for yourself, I think they'd prefer you not to do this.

Still, as far as shippers go I've had stuff lost by UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Purolator. Only USPS and Canada Post have a 100% record. Note: I do not work for Canada Post or USPS.
