I hope all is well in everyone's careers... I know I went through a big career change this past year. As a lot of you know, I was an Army Intelligence Officer for many years later becoming a federal civilian for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This job was a fun one and I got to travel all over the Middle East... more than I would have liked haha! I've experienced a lot of crazy shit over there, been shot at several times, IEDs going off next to me, and basically left in the middle of a combat zone with my asset, with no one knowing where we were at the time, no transpo, and with just one M9. As much as the days of me being a Case Officer were fun and exciting, it was time for a change. Plus the decision to move my position to Washington DC also helped me decide on a career change a little quicker HAHA! Don't think this current administration would have been as enjoyable in my old position.
Times were tough trying to figure out what a former C/O could do on the civilian side. I looked into being everything from a cop, to a teacher. Both of which paid less than half of what I was making. My wife and I were willing to sell the house and move into a more humble place if need be, just to be happy. Having a young child definitely helped me to turn down Fed Job offers throughout the US.
I know I am just rambling, but I wanted to thank everyone that bought some of my collection over the last year or so. It helped us keep the house, I managed to hold onto the main decks of the FL Skate Museum, and also gave me time to look for that perfect job. Well, I found it, and I do not have to travel, I make more money than I did at DIA, I don't have to take cover from mortar rounds or fly into places worrying about who may be waiting at some terminal for me in whatever the fucki-stan.
So anyone who is out there, unemployed... you can get through the shit. just really sucks at times... hang in there!!! |

| I am now the senior enterprise risk investigator/director of investigations for a nationwide financial services company. We service over 800 credit unions. I handle internal corporate fraud, insider threat and also fraud with our company and the credit unions. also, I handle anything suspicious basically lol. |
