We're going to see the Giants vs Cincinnati Reds @ AT&T park SF while on our roadtrip in the US and I was wondering how it goes.
Game starts at 7.15pm.
Do we need to be there just on time, a few hours in advance, are suporterteams seperated or doesn't that matter, can you have drinks while watching the game, etc. etc.
I know how it goes when going to a soccer game here in Belgium but since it's our first time ever going to a baseball game I was wondering how that goes.
Really looking forward to it.
Cheers! |

You can show up whenever, no need to get there super early unless you want to watch the teams practice and/or you want to find a parking spot. Public transit is the best option. There are no team sections. AT&T is pretty mellow and you rarely see anyone harassed for cheering for the opposing team. It is going to be nothing like seeing a European football match. You can buy beers but it is going to cost you a bunch if you want to get drunk.
The worst part about the whole experience will be that you are watching the Giants and the Reds. |

I have to disagree about some that was said but maybe because I'm a jock and love baseball. If you want to go early and tailgate you can with other Giants fans or atleast arrive early because you will be at one of the best ballparks in MLB. Also, the Giants boast the best record in the MLB right now and you are sure to see a great performance at a beautiful park. Enjoy the water and scenery outside but it's definitely not like a futbol match, different and good at the same time.
Enjoy your family time.
I wish I was there... |

Times change.
As a kid, we would go to Candlestick Park for Giants games.
I loved it. I got to see Guys my Dad's age drink, curse and fight. Like a window into a magical world.
Have fun at the game! |

I love seeing baseball games whenever I'm in the States.
I hope you like lite beers though.
Usually 3 hours long but a good night out.
Buy a foam hand! |

Cool guys, thx for your replies! Bizar to hear supporters of both teams are amongst each other. If you do that with a soccer game over here people would get killed before the game even starts.
I just hope I'll survive the lite beer. Is that some low alocohol crappy stuff? |

If you drink beer, get a black & tan with Guinness and Firestone DBA. Good stuff. |

Parking will be expensive unless you got tickets with a pass... Get there early save yourself some headache of Bay Area traffic which is fucking horrible. I deal with it everyday
Get the garlic fries too... Known for that there...
Oh and fuck the Reds. Gigantes till I die. |

If you had the time I would suggest crossing the bridge to see an A's game as well. There's quite a difference in the parks, teams and fans. Some things in SF are better than OAK, but some things in OAK are better than SF (in my opinion, of course).
Let's go A's! |
