Both equally fucking awesome. If I had to pick one, I'd say the tie breaker is the instrumental track and Call of Ktulu beats Orion by a long shot.

I have so many good memories associated with this era of Metallica so I would never be able to choose between the three albums. When I was in junior high the high school heshers used to smoke cigs across the street from the school on the Vet's Hall steps. Just walking past them scared the shit out of us but one day as I scurried past I caught a glimpse of a Damage Inc Tour shirt one of the hesher betties was rocking. Fucking Pushead! The best artist/musician pairing in music since Maiden hit up Derek Riggs. Just seeing that shirt had me hustling down to the Electronic Butterfly to find a copy of the MOP cassette. My musical tastes were forever changed.

I've debated this myself many times. Conclusion is Master is a clear clean composition. would it be considered rock opera today? (Nonsensical). and lightning is a killer night terror. Flashbacks to when it was so numbing vs everything else you could listen to.

Haha just remembered there was a laser light Metallica I saw in another mind- and master was peak trip. Pdx cranked it.

The slight RTL misstep that might make MOP the better of the two is "Escape." Also, James balls seemed to drop a little further with each of the first four albums so his vocals are more aggressive on MOP.

Escape is the jam dude. The chorus!

Trapped Under Ice is the true dud.
