I think I may just grab the next Traynor YBA-1a that pops up and perform the plexi mod on it. Had one back in the day, cost $80—probably run closer to $600 to $800 today. |

But the reverb and trem is a killer idea for a plexi head a la 60s-70s. and new to me. I need both with high gain option...might have to dive into this Traynor world.
I've been testing these boutique phenoms and find a lot of bs. All trying to be like something else, falling flat in my opinion...and I'm not picky unless I want to be. If take em all, but knockout, holy shit that's cool? Nope.
Something like these traynors if made today would be 2K easily...on paper. Hand wired, etc. so I'll check it out and give a go for sure. |

2k easy. The 4 input variety is the gem.
Unfortunately spending has been curtailed due too a previously unforseen impending move. |

The latest evolution of my pedalboard. Not real happy with the Boss CS-3, took the it back to L&M. Going to order the Carl Martin Compressor/Limiter—should have done that in the first place. After that, an OG MXR Phase 90, the new EVH Flanger and the Carl Martin Purple Moon (which is wild!). Of course that'll have to wait until after I move and have cash again.

Traded one of my basses for the Traynor YBA-1 head and cabinet (smoking deal!!). It's called the Canadian Plexi for a reason. Fucking badass!!!

Will get a picture next jam- but finally got a peavey all tube encore 65. I played Roadmasters exclusively 160w for years and know them and their tones. Perfectly voiced for me and takes pedals perfect with no volume variances. It's built properly - overdrive pre and then up the post and push/pull match names. Jammed tonight and stoked to have my tone back with a single coil. It's my overdrive the overdrive amp.
Going to a/b my deluxe reverb and encore- I'm almost always micd at shows anyway.
May build an extension from a stash of empty cabs I picked up too...so at least I can look a little menacing next to the half stacks at shows. |
