So I'm trying to pickup a mini ramp from craigslist and put it in my yard.

It is 3.5' tall and 16' wide, about 5' transitions. So the big pieces are going to be about 5'x8' and 3.5 tall.

I've built ramps 20 years ago, but its been awhile and I've never moved one.

I'm trying to get an idea of what I'll need as far as transportation and manpower. I'm figuring a flatbed trailer and 4-5 guys?

Just curious about people's experience with this. I was a mover a long time ago and know some stuff about moving big objects. I just want to make sure I can rustle up enough guys to pull it off. Most of my friends don't skate so I don't have use of the ramp as an incentive.

Yup. The more the better be it a mini ramp or a vert ramp. Grab a bunch of tie-downs as well.

That sounds about right. I did the same thing a couple years ago. Took it apart in 3sections, the flat and then each side. Took 3 trips in a pickup truck and had a couple guys there to help with the loading/unloading.

Well, we got it done. I scored this ramp free from craigslist. Needed a resurfacing and was about 35 minutes away, but was solidly built and in good shape. Myself and a buddy went down one day, removed the coping, top layer and platforms. We packed those in a truck and cut the ramp into six sections. Then five of us went down this morning with a couple of trucks, one towing a 6'x16' flatbed trailer I was able to borrow.

Before:

On trailer:

During:

Got it all in place:

Man, that was a shitload of work! Still needs the frame scabbed together, platforms and coping put on and a resurfacing. Then it will get paint and soundproofing to keep my wife happy.

I've wanted a ramp in my yard forever. I finally did it at 41 years old.

Now I have to find a trampoline. That was the deal with the wife and kid, I get a ramp, they get a trampoline..

Nice, congrats! Rip it up!

(In a skating sense, since you already ripped it up once )

Those little ramps are so fun, plus they are kid friendly, and even drunk friendly.
