I've skated street for many, many years and was always better at the early 90's flippy stuff than transition or "burly" modern street skating. However, I've never even set foot on a freestyle board but I've always appreciated it. How hard would it be for me to get started and am I too old to ever be decent at it? I guess I'm fairly in shape, if that matters. Not "handstand in-shape" but I've kept most of the mid-thirties gut off.
And if it's not too late to start, what is a good setup (used would be cool) to get going on?
Thanks, guys. |

Just what tricktips aka Bob said.
Just go ahead and get in touch with Witter at decomposed skates.
He has lots of different shapes and all the accessories to choose from.
Get a double kick Freestyle board with some skidplates and you are set, especially if you have a street background.
Not a 27" single kick....way too short.
I am riding a 29.25'' board these days.

i'm 40 and do a broad mix of the street and freestyle thing. as yo-yo said, get in touch with witter and he'll sort you out. I also have had no problems with the sk8kings gang if you happen to want to go through them as second option. |

Richy and Maria at Sk8kings are cool folks as well and have been the small Freestyle family for ages.
Witter is the 100% Freestyle dude who cuts, paints and screens most of the decks he sells, the soulman. |

Jeff, I'm sure there are certain clubs and bars you can visit.
Does Mrs Jeff know about this side of you?

Don't forgot the Headband....you must look hunky in a HeadBand & maybe a Haircut like Primo desiderio
You must ignore the Beers, the Bongs & the Babes |
