I started this 2 years ago.
It is base white, then masked out white pearl. It is a combination of silkcreened black over hand painted perfect brushed in fades of a clover hand mixed teal color. There was two of these but one was ruined when the black "trapped" silkscreen black was printed.
This is a custom, hand painted deck.
The pearl makes the fire candy and yellow candy fades burn...SUPER burn they eye if in the light and the thing glows all by it's own radiance due to my degree in chemical engineering and background working with Kenny Howard aka Von Dutch and the man himself Skip Englblom which really all ever did was give me access to lacquer paints thus energizing the ideas of how to make flat paints burn the eye without being fluorescents.
When you buy a board from me it is a piece of art and unfortunately my customer service isn't at the level of Zappos, or Kmart or if you call me on the phone it's not Wells Fargo level of record your conversation creepyness.
I make each board by hand.
I shaped this board, I did some wacky things with it and what I am about is making things others maybe can't figure out. It's not the most amazing art nor do I think so and it was a test to see if I could commit a graphic I drew back in 1985 and do what I thought was cool which was the fades I saw in Bert Grimes shop when he did my second tattoo. Being that I am 3rd generation customizer I basically just make stuff and under best conditions I don't know why I make stuff. Maybe I follow a different aesthetic, maybe it's boring but it's a balance of technique, art and established technique but with a scientific approach to make something that literally if it was on a car you'd stop cold and track it with the eye till it disappeared into the distance.
It is just a skateboard after all and measures 28"x8.50" and is a test blank from a friend that runs this monolithic skateboard company that has made many of your favorite decks in the 1970's and 1980's till the 90's and he wanted me to try cutting down a few blanks to make some cruisers since we both love cruisers, painted punk jackets and being weirdo individualist and that is a totally California tradition that is about custom culture, the best punk rock(nearly) and best at just about everything except good craft bears and how to make a real sandwich for some odd reason.
In the end.....
But it's just a tiny cruiser with a lot of love of a few years as I goofed around with it and just went crazy trying different mixtures of various paints.
It is for sale.

The weird reflection in this is literally from the clear coat reflecting up to the lens and burning out the lens on my camera.
