Thanks to Jeff Grosso's Love Letters on "Gimmicks", I spotted an old Schmitt Stix rail Ad referencing the models as "Type I" and "Type II":

Few other rails not on your list

Deathbox Cro-bars

Pacer

knuckledusters rails
(only remember them because a local guy used to sell em from his garden shed with a load of decks and bits)

I have been wondering about these now for a little while. I have two or three completes that came with the type II rails and had no idea what they were.
Thanks for posting this. Now to figure out what rails were on my green Hippie Stick

Yeah, the lipped rails are Schmitt Stix and were a VeRY popular rail.

type 3 is the squared smaller shape without a lip.

All Schmitt rails have 4" spacing.

I was informed back in March that Powell Peralta Thin Ribs have been discontinued.
I thought the orange Thin Ribs were the most popular rails out there, no?
They are the only rails I see on most boards.

I ordered a set from a shop online and they sent me the wrong rails.
So I said "hey you sent me the wrong rails, you sent Rib Bones, I need Thin Ribs ONLY because they are replacing the already drilled out Thin Ribs rails I have on my deck".
They said "ok, but they are on back order, we will let you know when they come in and ship them out to you right away".
I say "ok fine, I'll wait, but find out when they are coming back in stock".

A month later and I get a personal phone call from them telling me they have just been informed by Skate One that the Thin Ribs were now being discontinued. Skate One then later confirmed this with me as well.

Thought I'd share this news with you guys.

They also added a type III at some point. Might just have been for the T-Locks, not sure... I think that I have something around here that shows all three types. I'll have to dig around and see if I can find it.
