Hello,
New to the forum and did some searching here, at AOS and Google and can't seem to find a reference for the stamped codes on Santa Cruz decks. If there is one, can someone point me to it?
I've got an original, well used 1988 Corey O'Brien stamped: 01722
Curious if it has any significance for its place in the production run, etc.
It's been in a plastic bag since about '89 or '90. Can't believe all the old decks we threw out over the years...

I think the code on that one reads P05 |

I think a lot of the SC stamps start with an initial of the rider, then sometimes another letter of what I don't know, then the run #. I've also seen just a plain # with no letters, and also a sideways D alongside the other stamp.
So, who knows. We'd need either inside knowledge or a big enough sample group to make some assumptions |

So maybe that's an 'O' instead of a zero then...?
Couldn't find the P05 code up close - maybe it'll show up better if a step back a bit and look at it |

I can say that that board most definitely had a cell block 3 on the back and a bedpan riser on the front. This much we can be sure of |

And for whatever reason I continued to run Tracker Ultralights on all my decks and cracked the baseplates repeatedly! |

I was thinking the same thing. I stood out to me because of seeing bedpan circles on a deck made prior to bedpans being produced. |

Not sure when bedpans began production or if that was what was even on the front of this deck, but this was purchased brand new in 1988 or 1989 - can't remember the exact year. I could probably still find the receipt for it! If it was a bedpan on the front, I either put it on later or it must've been one of the first ones produced. |

Those markings are surely from a bedpan, here is the bottom of one I have to show you what we mean.
