I've been listening to this album a lot lately. I've been searching for that singer for years. Did he just fall off the face of the earth after that band or what?

I hope so. The music was great but that guy's voice and the way he sang just killed the band IMO. |

I agree. I can't stand the Odd Man Out singer. Actually, I can't listen to any of Cabs bands and like it accept for the Faction. I got that sessions cd w/ all his bands and gave it to a friend after inserting safty pins into my eardrums

[It takes an open mind to listen to anything other than punk rock, but then again it also takes a musician to understand that there's growth in what we like and dislike in our opinions in music tastes, but i do agree... Chris from OMO was probably my least favorite of all the singers i had been in bands with...Soda's singer was my favorite!
thanks for listening though,

Welcome to the forum Steve....
You, & the rest of the guys, will always have The Faction looming over your heads (not in a bad way). The music was raw, fast, agressive, and just fun to listen/skate to.
I for one, am bummed that The Faction quit playing earlier this year. t's not like I'm not used to you guys breaking up though
The Faction was always my favorite band. I tried to get into OMO, and I just couldn't. Soda blew OMO out of the water, for the short time it existed.. When ya heading back down to SD? Gotta hit Coronado, & Clairemont.
Take care

I have a funny story. I was in a record store in fort collins, Colorado, digging through all these old records. The girl at the counter says "sorry, those don't have price tags, so if you see anything you want, I can't sell it to you until the owner comes in."
I kept looking, and out of the corner of my eye I see my wife blow past something that looks familiar. I tell her to go back, and about 3 records back is the Odd Man Out record, WITH a pricetag. So I bought it.

You lucked out big time! You know how many e-mails i have gotten over the years asking if i had any more copies of that album:( I only have one saved in my personal record collection. It's very "rare to find" since it was a limited pressing and now the record comy is out of business now. So many skaters in the late 80's grew to enough OMO, becuase i think it remeinds them of their time in skating they had the most fun... good for you:)

speaking of the Faction, what is going on with Outlook doing a 2nd Faction deck. Is it authorized or what. I like the graphic, I used to have a shirt with that graphic on it. Well, I broke down and bought one last week.
I know, I know....the owner of Outlook can be a kook but he ships fast and the service is good. Shitty, you're still number one in my book and I know you've had you're beef with him before.
The deck is actually pretty sweeet. |
