| can you use this type of solvent on the base of a snowboard? I need to remove the adhesive from the sticker on a new board before I do the first wax. |

New boards generally don't need to be waxed, the only thing I use wax for is to fill gouges or scrapes so they are level with the rest of the base and then buff it smooth taking off as much wax as possible, an extra layer is just going to slow you down.
As for the solvent... Not really sure, probally wouldn't hurt but I'm not going to tell you to do it either. I would make damn sure that the space between the base and edge doesn't get any in there, or on any of the exposed layers on the side.
What board? Just curious.. |

it's a NOS Nitro Target, it's only my second board. My first one I bought last year and cracked when I majorly fucked up a jump  |

Use Isopropyl alcohol to take the sticker off.
Snowboards should be properly waxed for every session—they perform better. |

if you wanna keep the base in good shape, keep it waxed.
If not every time, every other time for sure. I do it every time I ride and leave a thick coat of wax on for the summer.
Doesn't need to be super spendy wax, just something that soaks in. |

| I only hot wax it once in a great while but when I do its done right & polished up nice, usually takes a few hours. To each his own I guess. If it gets scratches/gouges/drying or losing its shine then I'll do it but dammed if I'd do it every time I ride. |

it doesn't take but 30 minutes to properly wax.
It also depends on the base. Extruded bases don't need wax and if you have one of those, no worries.
The board will slide regardless of the wax but here in Oregon where shit is pretty flat, wax is your friend. It can be the difference between riding and walking on a deep powder day.
We also have several "getbacks" on Bachelor that are pretty long and flat. Tends to be a contest of glide when I'm with my buddies....I no likely to lose. |

| The last couple boards I've had were lib's with the TNT base "Fast and low maintenance dual layered fluoro base material", s#it is like greese lightning, damn fast. |
