going to see jello tonight for the first time! pretty stoked. missed his spoken word tours, but this one he's actually performing.

apparently inspired by iggy pops return to the stage on his 60th birthday, jello is doing the same having turned 50.

seeing as how their album only has 9 songs, i'm hoping they bust out some dead kennedys, and maybe even some LARD. a friend of mine, who usually has his finger on rock's pulse, said jello & TGSM claim to play DK songs better than DK. i guess we will see.

honestly, the Guantanamo School of Medicine sounds like your average jello collaboration but it's gonna be cool to see him.

they have an album called "The Audacity of Hype".

i thought it was decent. has a cleaner sound than other albums he's done.

so to recap...

i got far too drunk. slept on a floor.

as for the show, it was pretty solid. jello's new band sounded pretty good on stage. jello ranted and raved about everything from oilsands to the club he was playing at being shut down because of something or other. they did play some DK which was awesome. song selection would've been better though.

we discussed it before hand and we thought he would MOST LIKELY play:

too drunk to fuck
police truck
let's lynch the landlord
holiday in cambodia
california uber alles

he ended up laying the last 3 on our list of guesses. i suppose he had to go with the most popular - semipopular songs.

i haven't followed dead kennedys pretty much since jello left, but from what i know they're new touring vocalist is the singer from the wynona riders.

I saw Jello & GSM last year in Bristol and it was without a doubt the best show I'd ever been to.

They will be releasing an ep called Enhanced Methods Of Questioning early next year, which I think will come with a live DVD.
