Would you eat it?
Personally I said no, but the hunting deed was done...and it was presented to me. Set aside my "let the animals live" and gave it a go...very good. Not the first Elk I've had, but the bear, well that was tough to get over. |

I'd eat a pig's ass if it was cooked right....
That being said, my bow hunting buddy (deer hunting starts October for bows in TX) has popped 2 already. Wants me to do deer jerky for him. I get half of whatever he brings for myself. Stoked and ready. |

Love the deer and elk jerky, but the bear can get a little gamey for me. However, it's still jerky. |

The bear/elk was done as a smoked german sausage...but the elk jerky went freakin fast.
And getting half of what comes on over is a pretty nice gift. |

Bears remind me of large dogs so I would not eat any I don't think.
I've had Elk and Elk sausage many times and it was always good. |

I make it sound like it's much more work to make it than it really is... .

Bear sausage can be good if done right and if the bear was dropped on the spot. Elk sausage can be amazing. |

Bear Sausage makes me thing of Bear Dick.
Not a meat-eater myself, but props have to go out to those who eat what they kill. |
