3 ft high quarter pipe

6ft tranny good?

I don't want it too mellow...but not too tight....I want it perfect!

This sounds a little tight to me. But I'm no master rampbuilder either. I've got a 3' driveway quarter with 7 1/2' tranny's. It's kinda mellow...but I'm old and fat, so it's all good. It's 3 years old and in dire need of a rebuild. I'm thinking about going back on the rebuild with 7' of maybe 6 1/2' tranny's. The current version is almost too mellow, IMHO. If you do plan to go with this size, let me know how you like it.

I have 6ft trans on my 3ft and its great...I like it being a bit tighter. I also just built a concrete quarter thats 2ft with 5 ft trans...It looks mellow but has a tighter feel to it. I was getting scared watching it dry up but it turned out well.

Jay

this was before we cut it down to 3ft.

this is the new cement with 5ft trans.

every now and then I get hard of thinking!

do you place a wooden quarter opposite the concrete slab/quarter or am I missing something here?

irrespective, looks like some quality work you've done, just cannot get my head around why there isnt an opposing quarter (yet????)?

The 4' part of my halfpipe has 6' tranny. It is a bit tight, but I like it.

Lay down some plywood and draw a line using 6' and 7' lines and than look at it and see which one looks to be good. That's how I would do it.

we have 7' on the 3'6" high ramp and it doesn't feel tight. maybe consider 6.5 too as the radius.

I have a half already and there is plenty of room to get speed with one push...

personally I like 6 foot trannies on 4 footers since it makes it easier to grind (at least for me)... the 4 footer we skate at the Y has 8 foot trannies and the coping is in to much for me... I am building a 4 footer with 6 foot trannies but 10 feet of flat so it mellows it out a bit... the older I get the more time I need to adjust my footing... or maybe the fatter I get... one or the other!!

I love the 6' tranny on my 4' pipe, gives it a big ramp kinda feel.
