Tiki grows a lot of food. When I found out he made his own pickles, which I love, I asked him to send me some. This arrived today:
Three jars of pickles....some long ones, some shorter ones, and some B&B's which are perfect for sandwiches and bugers. They are all in the fridge chillin for a few days. I'll first make a peanut butter and pickle sandwich, which if you haven't tried is delicious.
Also included was some napkins, a Jack in the Box bobblehead, some fancy toothpicks, some Zatarains Creole Mustard, and a CD of sandwich eating music from Jon and the Nightriders.

peanut butter and pickle sandwhich wha???
you aren't expecting are you del?
i'd probably have to have a few drinks to probably try that, but never heard of such a thing.peanut butter and celery..yeah..peanut butter and chocolate..yeah...peanut butter and jelly, who hasn't..but peanut butter and pickles???that's a new one for this "whippersnapper'...
i may try the pickles and mustard...seems safe since some burgers or chili dogs have that...never really thought if a pickle as being an "individual" food before...
tiki did one HELL of a packing job for the jars not to explode along the way..kudos for him on a packing job well done.. |

I know it sounds wierd. My Dad used to make them years ago and got me hooked. Try one. You'll like it. |

I love pickles. Pickled anything is good.
I grew my first garden last year and started pickling anything I had. Green beans, dilled green beans, dilled carrots, dilled purple carrots, pickled sweet yellow banana peppers, even dilled tomatoes which were killer.
This year I'll try B&B, beet pickles, and some pickled jalapenos too.
Del, if you were not so far away, I'd send you a jar of pickled green beans with a shit ton of garlic in there. They are awesome. |
