1968 El Camino, with only a few tiny rust spots in the usual places.
Old silver paint needs to be redone, needs turn signals fixed.
Good interior, with new headliner, has bucket seats with horseshoe console shifter.
Disc brakes in the front, new pads and rotors, drums in the rear. New Master Cylinder, and Power Booster.
15X7 and 15X8.5 American Racing with BFG Tires.
2 inch drop spindles in the front, with drop springs and shocks, 3 inch Eibach lowering springs in the rear, for a low, but mean stance.
Has Turbo 350 with B&M shift kit, and hardened yoke. Custom aftermarket diveshaft.
Custom 10 Bolt rear end with 30 spline axles, Posi and 3:73 gears.
Comes with boxed upper and lower control arms (ladder bars) for zero wheel-hop.
Over $7500.00 invested in and on the engine.
Complete Edelbrock top end kit, with modified camshaft.
1968 four bolt main block 406 cu in: 4.155" bore x 3.750 stroke.
10:5:1 compression ratio, you can hear this engine firing hard.
Forged 400 crank, pistons, and H-Beam connecting rods. ARP bolts through-out.
Comp Cams CS-XR276HR-10 Roller Camshaft with Schneider Hydraulic roller lifters.
Over $1300.00 with machine work to engine to retro-fit this camshaft into a vintage engine.
Pete Jackson quite gear drive.
Edelbrock aluminum heads with 2.08"/1.60" valves, 1:6 ratio roller rockers.
Sure Seat Valve Springs and retainers. Ti Tech Edelbrock Headers.
Edelbrock EPS Intake with Holley 700 Duel Feed Double Pumper, ported and polished, and modded metering blocks to flow 780 CFM.
This engine was made to pull hard all day long with zero problems.
Completed on 05-20-08 it has been used as a daily driver and has just 7500 miles on it. Runs and drives perfectly, 100% reliable.
It never over-heats, block was sonic checked, magnafluxed, and hot tanked before build for max bore and stroke possibility.
This thing is MEAN, it sets off every car alarm you pass, is louder than a Harley, and will be HATED by your neighbors!!!
Over $30,000 invested in this El Camino. Needs to be finished up.
$10,000 or best offer.

I couldn't afford to get the rest of the stuff for the 496, the computer alone was $900.00 so I sold it.
There is now a vintage Edelbrock X-C8 Daul Quad Intake on the El Camino, along with a bigger roller cam.
It has the correct 450CFM mechanical secondary Holley carbs with primary squirters only.

Damn. I'd sell someone's kid for that. Too bad you don't live near me or I'd be looking at that thing parked in my garage. I love your El Camino!
Bump for an awesome car. |
