What food, sauce, dish, or ingredient is it that you are not supposed to expose to metal bowls or plates because the metal will queer up the taste?

Yep. I Found out the hard way after having 40 gallons of bbq sauce ruined by covering it with foil and leaving it overnight. The foil sagged down into the sauce and broke down. The sauce looked like it had a swirl of silver in it.
