its the bomb. I will be doing a few after thanksgiving when turkeys are way cheap. I have seen to crazy thing with them though. one time my friend got all fucked up and put to much oil in and when he dropped the turkey it over flowed and he had a huge oil fire. lucky it was in the middle of the yard.
the second time I am over another friends house and he had one he already put in before I got there we walk out on his back porch and the gas hose is melted off the thing and just like a rubber hose flame thrower. We freaked and ran inside and debated what to do and he ran out and shut the tank off. Was a tense moment. |

Deep fried turkey is about 100 X better than fried chicken.
It is the best way to eat turkey. |

This is not the first time I have heard this. Dudes I used to work with would fry one up tailgating @ NY Jets games and would swear by it being the greatest thing ever. |

the best thing about deep fried turkey is that its a social event. we usually do about 5 or 6 at a time. we use peanut oil and its cheaper if you split it up with several other friends. you end up using about 5 gallons of peanut oil. but it makes a great excuse to hang out and get fucked up.
first you deep fry a chicken. this is importantant in order to make sure the oil is right and to have as a snack while the turkeys are cooking. the whole time you have lots of beer on ice and fresh bowls to keep it extra happy.
the turkey takes about 3 minutes per lb @ 350-375 degrees. you have to do it outside. the smoke is too much for indoors. the prep is very important. we inject the turkey with a cajun butter marinade. this makes the turkey delicious.
as soon as the turkey is done we wrap it in foil and warm it up in the oven on thanksgiving day. we sometimes fry them at christmas too. give it a try. there are tons of recipes on the internet. just dont catch shit on fire and fuck your place up! |

Never had one either, folks swear by them. I heard about deep fried turducken (whatever that monstrosity is called where you stuff a turkey with a duck, then stuff the duck with a chicken) too. Pass. Duck is gnar. |
