No, but I have always wanted to.
I had some buddies back in Austin and they used to make some great home brew.
They even started their own label, I can't remember the name but damn it was good. |

Mr. Beer is how alot of people got their start...be careful or it can become an obsession, it's fair to say. I first saw a Mr. Beer on woot.com and it got the idea in my head. By the time I was done doing my nerdy research and was ready to buy one, they were sold out. I ended up getting a starter kit from midwestsupplies and haven't stopped spending money yet. Working on building a 4 tap kegerator for the house...it never ends.
Speedy, do you brew or are you talking about beer a friend brewed? Something could be up with the carbonation process... |

My dad's brewing at the moment - some sort of Ale recipe. He's also doing some wines and I'm trying to get him to attempt mead.
About the beers being 'flat', isn't this because everyone is used to commercial beers that are carbonated? |

Well the carbonation depends on the brew, I suppose- but I can't think of any beer that's supposed to be served uncarbonated. Speedy, does your friend bottle or keg his beer? Not trying to make alkies outta you guys just seeing who else shares this other hobby I've gotten into!
Steve-g, you guys should look into making some apfelwein...it's REALLY easy to make and costs about $15 for a 5 gallon batch.
Maybe I do drink too much- being on the night shift doesn't help that feeling! It's 9:30am and I want to crack a beer |

Cool thread. Anyone got pics? Always good to see some beer - but better to drink it |

i know lads who i used to work with, and if they worked nights, as soon as getting back to the hotel they would start drinking.
some of em would have 6 or 8 pints before breakfast then go back to the rooms and carry on until about 1...and thats working from 8 til 8 |
