Hi guys, new here. Sweet christ....I thought recording equipment was expensive. Anyone check out that $3000 NOS Hosoi on egay lately?

NOS decks are pricey and rare these days. I had no idea as I've been living in a cave for the last 10 years. I should have held onto my unskated Schmitt Lopes (escher graphics) and Tarampula decks as well as a few others.

Anyway, this is a new obssession for me so I figured I'd sing up here and do some searching/learning for some of the decks I'm after. I'm no crazed hoarder, I just want to own some of decks I loved from way back when.

I'm 37 and just started to skate again but hate new boards so I'm skating some reissues.

I guess I'll ask about any on-line stores that sell old NOS decks? I'm not into reissues except to skate them. I also did not see a classified section for selling, just trading or wanteds. I'm not a seller, just a buyer.

There is old school skates but that's all I know of but they have nothing I'm after. As usuall, I'm a buck short and a day late.

step up your search efforts!
welcome, all the online stores that were around before 2004 have nothing left. Check ebay, check here (yes there is a for sale section)
switch your normal grocery list to Rahmen noodles and save save save.

If you have a wife, girlfriend, mortgage or rent payments stop now.

No shit. I tend to obssess about things. I was a bit of a deck hoarder when I was young in my teens and had no money. I already have a vintage motorcycle habit so I can't get crazy. But I hear what your saying. I've seen decks go for mental amounts and I'm not on that level of collecting and never will be.

I know all about it. I was a music/recording junkie for years. Bands and recording cost tons of cash and I did eat Ichiban noodles for weeks just to buy a vocal mic. Now I hate playing in bands and recording and gave it all up. Sold all my gear and paid of debt, used as a down payment on a house ect. My girlfriend makes twice as much as i do so I'm ok there.

Any on-line suggestions? I've been googling shit for 2 weeks now.

I did manage to find a nice old Lance Mountain doughboy 1 deck for a really good price so I'm excited about that. I bought one to keep and one to skate. This all started from that purchase and blast of nostalgia.

welcome to the forum..
finding those few decks will be fun.
hopefully you get out before it turns into "just one more deck" kind of a thing.

you have no idea what Im talking about yet,
hopefully you never do.

Nothing NOS online anymore to speak of, commons still available here
http://oldschoolskates.com/decks.aspx

other than that there is a "for sale" section + a search feature on the site that might help you locate some wood (once you learn how to properly use it)

Yeah.....I think I'd rather spend $1000 on a new upstairs window than a deck. Blasphemy maybe but sometimes reality has to be priority.
